Legend has it that the original Sailor's Valentines were made shipboard by sailors returning to England from the West Indies. Truth be told, there was a "tourist shop" in Bridgetown, Barbados that sold them from 1830-1865. Fortunately, ours are a little easier to come by. Both styles are made from hundreds of natural seashells set by hand in a blooming valentine of Caribbean color. Hang them anywhere to bring a little "I had a 19th century plantation house in Barbados" cachet to the party! Hand made of natural shells so each unit will vary and be unique.
